1. Christmas is a holiday that is celebrated in the winter time of the wizarding world. Over 100 countries celebrate it as well. Learn about one of the traditions from your country or another. Example: Do they hang stockings, make ornaments, or get gifts in their shoes?

2. During the holiday season, everyone makes or enjoys special treats to celebrate. Enjoy some butterbeer, holiday punch, Christmas cookies, chocolate frogs, peppermints, cupcakes, and more OR attend a cookie exchange or holiday party with treats.

3. Traditional music and caroling is a fun way to get into the holiday spirit. Listen to wizarding songs, Christmas tunes, or sing a song of your own.

4. A Christmas tree is cut down and placed in the Great Hall for the Happy Christmas celebration every year. Decorate a tree of your own, make an ornament, or assist someone in decorating their tree or one at a facility or school.

5. Sending Christmas cards through the owl post is a very popular activity. Decorate a card for a family member, friend, soldier, or assist younger/older participants in making cards.

6. The holiday feast is held on Christmas day. All professors and wizards are invited to attend. The table is displayed with food like turkey, gravy, cranberry sauce, pudding, potatoes, and peas. As decoration there is a holiday crackers filled with goodies to play with. Fill stockings, crackers, or create little goodies to give to friends OR attend a potluck, feast with friends, or family gathering.

7. Christmas is a time of gift giving and spending time with family and friends. Assist in wrapping presents, going shopping, creating shoeboxes for soldiers or children, attending an ornament or cookie exchange.

8. The Yule Ball and many holiday parties are held during the month of December to join people together. Attend a holiday party, family gathering, ball, dance, or any holiday activity in the month of December. What did you like best about it?

9. Garlands, wreaths, lights, ornaments, paper snowflakes, placemats, candles, photos, and other merry decorations displayed throughout the month. Create a decoration, help decorate a home or tree, make a wreath, exchange ornaments, make a paper chain or any other decoration for the holiday season.

10. Play a game with friends and family. Some examples include: holiday bingo, chess, checkers, or any other fun game.

11. Tis the season for a feeling of magical events, plays, concerts, recitals and nutcrackers. Join in the holiday season and attend a school or group event.

12. Celebrate the gift of giving during the Christmas season by offering kindness to others. Create a card, deliver a gift, help the elderly, adopt a child or soldier OR assist anyone in need.
