3.   The Hawaiian language, called Polynesian, consists of 17 letters. Did you know that all Hawaiian words end in vowels and never have double consonants?  Learn to pronounce or the meaning of some Polynesian words.

4.  There are eight islands of Hawaii. Seven of these islands are still visited today. Choose
one island to learn more about. Discover their official color for the flower.

5.   There is a large variety of animals in Hawaii. They consist of marine life, birds, and other unique creatures. Choose an animal and learn more about it. Some examples are: Puea (owl), Apapane or piwi (birds), Honu (turtle), whales, dolphins, mongoose, and the nene goose.

6.  Learn about a myth or legend told in Hawaii.  What was the story about.

7.  Hawaii is an island. That means there is water all around the edges of the land.  Research a water activity that is completed there.  Watch videos or visit websites to view pictures. Examples: snorkeling, surfing, boating, wind surfing, outrigger canoe rides, kite surfing, paddle boarding, dolphin quests, and whale watching.

8.  Make a lei OR a flower headdress OR learn to do the hula.
