Journalism and News [MINI KIT PATCH] --COMPLETE 1

1. Create a journal.  Make at least four entries in the journal or write down your feelings on a daily basis.

2.  Create a short story about a vacation, party, or event you attended.

3. Decide what kind of stories you enjoy reading.  Read a book and write a paragraph about the book.  Was your story a mystery, humor, or adventure?

4. Be an advise columnist by reading articles in a magazine or newspaper that were submitted.  What type of response would you give to their question?

5. Chose an item in a magazine to write about. Examples:  shoes, make-up, clothes, or a computer.

6.  Learn about different types of media including television, radio, newspapers, magazines, and the Internet.  Choose one to read or listen to a story or article.  Write a paragraph about what you learned or your opinion on the article or story.

7.  Writing an essay is different because it gives you a chance to express yourself and share your thoughts and feelings.  Write an essay about something you enjoy.

8.  Watch the news for 3 days.  Was there a different story every day or did they follow the same story for the 3 days. 

9. Learn to send messages with special codes or symbols. Examples: Morse code, rune symbols, shapes, symbols, and backwards letters.

10.  Chalk the walks and express your journalism with chalk or other art supplies.  Create a poster for earth day, design an earth day design on the sidewalk with chalk, or create a banner for campaigns or voting.
