1. In Hawaii pineapples appear on tote bags, earrings, to quilts – the fruit symbolizes hospitality. Create an art project with a pineapple on it. Examples: drawing, stamp art, watercolors, or painting.

2. Create a food item using pineapples. Some examples include: Pineapple upside down cake, cookies, pie, pizza and more.

3. Pineapples are mostly grown in the Caribbean, South America, and other tropical areas. Learn more about a place that grows pineapples.

4. Learn about the parts of the pineapple. Where is the crown, skin, stem, and fruit? What can you eat and not eat?

5. Use your senses and discover a pineapple. How does it feel? What does the outside and inside look like? What color is it? How does it taste (sweet or sour)? Do you like the way it tastes?

6. Eat something with pineapple in it. Examples: Ice cream, yogurt, fruit salad, smoothie, cookies and more.

7. Complete a puzzle, maze, or game that involves a pineapple. Examples: Word search, scramble, jigsaw puzzle, pass the pineapple, or hide the pineapple.

8. Hawaii has a pineapple plantation that you can visit on the Oahu island. Learn more about the plantation and the history, try some pineapple ice cream, visit a pineapple farm, or participate in an activity that is offered there. Examples: Pineapple train tour around the plantation, take a garden tour, go through a maze, OR enjoy food or crafts with a pineapple theme.

9. Showing someone hospitality means making them feel welcome and wanted. participate or name one time that your showed hospitality. Examples: Offer someone to stay over at your house, invite them to dinner, OR give a neighbor a gift basket to welcome them to the neighborhood.

10. Name one job that the employees use hospitality during the day. Examples: Food, beverages, hotels, and travel. How would they show hospitality?
