Earn this mini patch by learning about hand sewing, quilting, or machine sewing.
USE THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS AS A GUIDE> COMPLETE 1

1. Learn how to complete some simple sewing stitches.  Use one and create something.

2.  Complete a simple sewing project.

3. Use a paper sewing sheet to practice sewing on the sewing machine.

4.  Visit a store or shop that sells fabric and sewing supplies. Choose some fabric and other items to create something.

5.  Learn some sewing terms and what they mean. Examples: blanket stitch, seam ripper, thimble, pin cushion, button hole, needle threader, basting stitch, cutting mat, hem, tape measure, and cut on the fold.

6.  Complete a simple sewing kit.  Follow the directions and sewing according to the instructions.

7.  Learn how to sew on a button.

8.  Create something on the sewing machine. Make sure you have adult supervision and follow the instructions on while sewing.

9.  Learn how to use a pattern.  Create something using a pattern. Learn how to correctly place the stick pins on the fabric and pattern.  Hand sew or machine sew the item.

10. Sew something and gift it to another person.  Examples: pillows, placemats, blankets, stuffed animals, pot holders, and more.

11. Take a sewing class or an instructional class to learn how to sew or create an item. 

12. Create designs of items you would like to create. Learn how to sew one of those items.  Examples: Totebag, doll dress, add a decoration to a pair of jeans, sew on patches and more.
